The A4 is a nice car, but getting the 3.0 in that pushes the price up to high 30's. Same with BMW -- the 325 is a nice car, but underpowered and the 330 is a $40k car with the same options as the 9-3.
I guess if Saab is going to rely so heavily on incentives (which my brother was told were *not* available for the Vector), that's fine. I wish they';d price more realistically, then, and stop killing resale values by constantly incentivizing the cars.
I also just don't see spending the $34.5K MSRP, before taxes, tages, etc., that a Vector equipped the way I would want it and not making the extra $2-3K for an S60R.
Saab needs to (i) drop its prices on the Vector to something a little less ambitious, and (ii) come up with a 250-300hp, S60R-like version of the 9-3 (a resurrected Viggen), priced MSRP in the $36-38K range.
