The Fram should cause no problems, but if you want to be absolutely sure, change the filter with a genuine SAAB oil filter p/n#9144445, about $5 from the dealer, or less, in bulk from various SAABNET sponsors. Due to the way it's built, there's lots of filtration area despite the compact size. Very sturdy relief valve, too.
I cut open my original SAAB oil filter and I see no reason not to use these...
