They said that the problem was caused and is limited entirely to the AC system. They mentioned that the something blew out and the acidic smelling steam is a result of the freon and such in the ac unit being dispursed into the atmosphere...seems reasonable. They also mentioned that they would be replacing my exhaust as it has gotten rusty. How long will the new one last, I wonder?
Anyway...now they are saying that they will replace the ac and all. My question is, could this have caused other problems in the car that I should look for. I know that the new repair is covered for an additional year, however, I can imagine I could have a hard time convincing them that the ac unit going and the freon burst under my hood caused some other, say...electrical, problem. Isn't freon really really cold? If so, could that cause problems being released against a really hot engine? I am concerned with hose problems, plastics and even the head gasket. Also, how concerned are you about this car only havinbg 34,000 miles on it? That seems like very few miles for such big problems...could be anal...
I don't know...you guys and gals seem to know everything and for that I trust you...
Thanks to everyone for your help and replies.
Regards,
Trevyn
