Even a good body shop can mis match colors. As you pointed out about the two-tones that you pickup became. That's the negative about painting the whole door and fading into the rest of the car. If you have it touched up you'll potentially only have a spot that's mis-matched that you'll probably have to point out to other people for them to notice. Of course you'll always know where it is so it will stick out like a sore thumb, but usually stuff only 1-2 inches needs to be pointed out to most folks, even car guys, especially if the touch up is not half bad.
I assume the guy who bid $350 is a "bumper repair guy" and he'll use similar techniques to spot the door as to fix the bumper and spoiler or are both places body shops?
Or if you haven't gotten a quote from a companty like Bumper Medic, the guy who runs it drives a 9-3 Linear, give 'em a try. I could see it being even less from what you describe.
