We had one of those bumper repair places come out and fix a pretty nasty gash on our red Pontiac Grand Prix's bumper. You can't tell anything was ever done from any angle. It cost $200 versus about $800 from a body shop. We also had some major work done on our older white Honda Accord, and the body shop tried to blend in the paint. Several years later, you can tell that the panel they painted has a little bit of a yellow tinge to it. Like Mike said, body shops can do a lousy job of color matching, and the bumper medic type of places can do a great job. It just depends on the company.
