I find OnStar extremely overpriced for what they are. For $400/year you get safe & sound and basically navigation.
When I tried to call for directions (in my 2001 9-3) they were unable to tell the direction I was travelling, it took 15-30 seconds to update my position so they couldn't tell me when to turn if I couldn't make out street signs.
The competition is in-dash navigation systems that show your your exact position including when to turn, etc.
Plus I find asking a person for directions by phone to take too long. Not to mention going out of signal.
I wish GM didn't own this piece of crap.
