The directions/connections plan is a waste of money. As stated in the other posts, the directions are terrilbe and the Onstar assistant doesn't get updates fast enough. I renewed to the safe and sound plan on my 2001 9-5 after the free period ran out. Onstar was very helpful when we were hit by a drunk driver Christmas '01 (the story is in the Saabs save lives section). Onstar was automatically activated after the collision and they called EMS for us. It was really helpful in the chaos of the situation. I wouldn't be without it.
