They sold Viggens in Europe the first two years, bur after that they stopped selling them. Instead the Europeans got an almost identical car except it only had the HOT engine that put out 210 HP. This was the same spec as the 9-3 SE's here in the states.
When we were over in Sweden back in 2001 for the SAAB Festival the guys at SAAB ANA told us that it just wasn't worth it for them to sell the Viggens over there, only in the U.S.
The sad thing is that the car was identical to the Viggen, had the wing, and the seats, however they didn't have the Viggen crest in it. And the really sad thing is that at the time we were there you could pick up a 2001 9-3 Aero for about $24,000 U.S. Talk about a mark up coming into the states.
The best thing to do would have been to buy an Aero and send it to Nordic or SQR, and for about $3000 more have the thing tweaked to 300 hp. Soooo unfair, I wanted to stay in Sweden and buy a couple of Aero's.
