I cut across the casting near the air temp sensor mounting boss, can't envision to what side, but far enough to leave room for a coupling.

I use 1" medium grit sanding drums for good control and stock removal. I got the complete throat down to about 2 to 3 mm thick. The bend otherwise is still a choke point because you can't get in there. I then used a section of 2 or 2.5" rad hose and stainless steel backing with clamps and good glue from the casting to the rubber.

So that worked vey well, but it was a lot of work for an incremental improvement. Remember the rules of deminishing returns. A Viggen IC is vastly greater improvement. Makes the power seem effortless some how.

My next mod was to replace my funnel mod, the first air box mod I think, and do the 3" duct mod. I had a neat idea for cone transition for the end of the 3" duct, but I tossed that in the trash when the 9-5SET was killed.

I had an interesting pop-off valve to dump boost overshoots from the MBC and a resistor mod to shift the fuel cut pressure as well. The pop-off valve was a TurboXS type ?S? blow off valve with an ajustable pressure regulator to make it into a variable pop-off valve. The constant pressure applied to its piston and the pressure regulators built in overpressure relief is a better solution than cranking down a stiff spring. The valve was more sensitive and opened wider and faster in response to overpressure than a typical pop-off valve. Neccessity is the mother of all inventsions, or was it too much time on my hands?
