This is a follow-up on my earlier post (link for your reference:

I would appreciate comments and/or suggestions. I am very concerned.
Bought a new '03 93 Arc on July 22.
Five days later, the car started having starting/stalling trouble.
The dealer said don't worry, it's probably the software that needs upgrading. (Why it might not have had the latest SW was beyond me, given that it was brand new...)
Anyway, they kept the car for 1.5 days. Verdict: the SW was fine,
but the spark plugs were "fried" (their description). They had absolutely
no explanation for this. They said everything was now "perfect."
I took the car back, and it was fine for about 6 days. Then I started
having trouble with not starting on the 1st try in the morning, and near-stalling on the 2nd try. Same behavior as before. Plus intermittently it feels like it is losing oomph, and it feels sluggish and heavy for a few seconds, then it gets over it. But this is not continuous and I cannot reproduce it on demand. The dealer has questioned how I drive...
The dealer suggested that I shift gears at 4 - 4.5 K rpm (instead of
my usual 3 - 3.5 K rpm) to see "if this would clean the spark plugs".
DOes this make ANY sense?!
Anyway, I did it to try it. The next morning I had the same near-stalling trouble.
The car is again at the dealer now.
It is all of *22 days old*, and of course I am worried that a car that fouls
up its own spark plugs has something seriously wrong with it. And I do not like the weird attempts for explanations I have heard from the dealer (I was also told that it's been very hot, so trouble like this is not unexpected -- of course I live in Arizona, where hot is normal).
I would *really* appreciate feedback. I am worried enough that I looked up the AZ Lemon Law. This is my first Saab and I expected better. I intend to keep a new car I buy for a long time -- I cannot imagine going through this crazy diagnostics in the future.
Has anyone had to return a Saab?
Has anyone had to negotiate a similar situation?
Has anyone had similar spark plug/stalling trouble?
thanks,
Olga
