I'm not sure what product you used, but I have had good luck w/ RejeX, not a wax but a polymer sealant. The brake dust on my 9-5 seems to wipe off easier and clean up more quickly when I wash the wheels with soap and water. I use less wheel cleaner w/ the RejeX. I'm about ready to apply it to my 9-3, which I bought several weeks ago. Product info. says you can expect about 3-4 months of protection with each application. I can't say if that's true yet, since I applied the stuff on the 9-5 wheels about 2 months ago. But so far it seems to work just about as well as after I applied. Others on this board say RejeX does nothing, however.
