search for drs<underscore>anticipator for background if you are new to this topic
Jeff:
You definately have the MBC at?near?into boost cut territory. Your ECU seems to be a bit more tolerant of this than my 95SET was. So you may have to cut the MBC back at bit. You are getting quite high boost levels. A boost guage would provide some interesting info. But with a T5+MBC, you will still adjust to fuel cuts then reduce. The boost guages are not super accurate either. And many VDO guages don't read zero at zero for some reason. A BG might let you see overshoots with resolution that you can't get with the boost indicator. After you have done some runs and let the heat in the IC flush out for a bit, then when you hit the throttle fast, the turbo will be even faster and to some extent, stronger than ever. So you can get into some of those effects.
Note to others: The guage is useless anyways. Its resolution at the very small pressure settings we are dealing with will be rather poor. And its hard to read that guage at WOT anyways! The guage can be removed and the guage port plugged with 1/8 NTP.
We are working on finding a simplified method of intial APR adjustment. But otherwise, you start with low pressure setting and increase till you see some introduction of boost lag or lowered boost, then backoff, but high enough to see that the boost pressure overshoots are gone or trivial.
Once you get the APR adjusted, then you can increase your MBC setting which was set low enough to leave headroom for the pressure overshoots. Jeff seems to have found a new limit for the MBC when the APR is setup.
Jeff is looking for an optimal low cost APR. The current one seems to be very good so far.
So this is still a work in progress. Stay tuned.
