Last night when driving home from running some errands, I was waiting at a stoplight when this really tricked out mid-90s Mustang rolled up beside me. The guy (and his girlfriend) both really trying to get my attention to go for a little "race off the line", the whole rev the engine trick, yell a little, some gestures, we all know the routine. So, just to humour myself, I thought I would give it a shot (I never race.... ). Well, I even took it easy releasing the clutch into 1st, and still I whipped the Mustang's butt, the Viggen's 2nd gear is just nuts.

Here's what I noticed though, from shifting from 1st to 2nd I heard this momentary slip of the front tires. Almost like a loss of traction and then it regains. I suppose this would make sense, my Viggen is a 2000 therefore, no TCS. I think STICKMAN was mentioned something like a week or so ago. Pretty fun, but undoubtably minces the tires, and at almost $300 CDN a tire for these Toyo TS-1 Proxes, I doubt I'll be flooring it much anymore ;) My front tires have about 20000kms on them and they are about ready for replacement.
