I hacked a modded a 95SET for years. Did the VRK, Koni's, SAS sway bar. That handled well, but it always had a wild character, but cornered like a roller coaster :)
I am really impressed on how my '03 Aero Wagon handles out of the box. With 27K, the tires have improved with age (mostly highway). So with wear, the tread is more stable and the suspension is comming thru better than ever.
I have an SMBC (search on that), and a aftermarket BPV. Both helped. Otherwise stock. Best octane here (KS) is 92. I am experimenting with octane enhancement and it seems that the Aero is more willing with something around 93 octane.
As for running in the engine, it seems that it takes 20K to get into its strengh. MPGs were high from the get go. I think that M1 0W40 is a must do, with dealer oil every 10K. I have been changing every 5K to get the wear metals out.
So I miss the rawness and 2nd gear runs of the 95SET, but the Aero is a great vehicle. With some serious mods it will not disappoint. The Aero is a better class of vehicle in so many ways. If you get the Viggen, the engine and ECU will be very much the same.
