Hey everyone,
Just wanted to thank everyone for their support and input as well as update all of you as to the results from the 30 day service saga.
After dropping off the car, I emailed the service guy with a list of programming requests, mostly involving the central locking. He called me this morning and informed me that this was not part of the 30 day and was handled by sales delivery or something like that. He said he'd try and get me set up with them and that if they're to busy, that it would cost $90 for the programming.
As it turns out, the sales/delivery guy was pretty cool and said to bring it buy the next day and he'd have at it. When I got home I re-read the Saab warranty and Repair Service manual that came with my car and on page 5 it stated that "Your servicing dealer will perform several inspections and customize any programmable features."
Also I leveled with him and said I didn't like how I was treated and I would hate to have to take my car 90 miles away to get it serviced, but would if this is how they treat customers. He did apologize and urged me to fill out excellents on the dealer urve when it comes ot to just toss it out. Hmmmmm.
I will be sure to point this out when I go back tommorrow. Since the service guy thought I got this info strictly from this web site. He also informed me that more than half of what a person reads on these boards is bogus information. Whatever.
He said currently Saab's fix for the door panel rattle was to put some strip around the lip of the door, I took this to mean between the doorpanel and the door itself. He said it may not work, but that is what saab is saying to do right now and he had never heard of a door buzz problem. Well, it didn't work, but he wouldn't even look at the door buzz repair info I printed from this site, which is supposed to do the trick. Any way, I'll give him a chance to fix the doors again.
Now for the best part. The sales guy that I dealt with before saw me out front. (For those of you who didn't know, he said he could match my internet price quote, so we agreed on a price and I said if he could find the car I'd buy it. When he did find the car equipped as specified, he called me and quoted the price plus $600 worth of additional delivery charges. I told him that that wasn't the deal we agreed on and I would not buy it. He informed me that this was the only car left that he could find equipped the way I wanted, but I said no and for him to call me if he changed his mind.)
Well he says "hey why didn't you buy from us?" I told him because "if you remember, we had agreed upon a deal which you said we didn't need to write down, then you added an extra delivery fee." He made a couple excuses then said, "well we got 2 more just like you wanted shortly after that." Well, I said, "you never did call me" and rememebr, he told me there was only one left anyway. Now where did he get 2 more? What a liar.
I love my car, but what a shady operation. Thanks for listening.
