My 2000 9-3 turbo is fine at 80,000 miles, so I don't know why there are problems. It mystifies me why any water-cooled turbo would leak with so few miles. What oil is being used in the cars with problems? I have learned that you may have to press the dealer service department on warranty issues. Back in December, my dealer told me that the catalytic converter was not covered under the emission warranty since Hawaii did not have an emissions check after it failed following a DI cartridge failure (69,000 miles on the car). I eventually contacted Saab USA, and did some research on US Emissions laws to discover that it had to be covered under the emissions warranty. Then Saab USA contacted my dealer who then replaced it (8 months later). That was a painful way to cover something that was obvious.
