I have a 2003 9-3 Arc sedan with the 300 watt, 13 speaker sound system. I was only aware of an audio upgrade for the Linear that came with the single amp 150 watt system. Does your '04 Arc Convertible already have the 300 watt, 13 speaker sound system? If so, what does the upgrade consist of? I wouldn't mind improving the sound system on my car, so if there is actually something available I will be requesting it also. The front of the system is pretty decent for a factory sound system but the rear is abysmal. Someone here mentioned before that it is supposed to be that in order to give a 'front and center' sound experience, but there should be a way for the user to defeat this and get good sound from all four corners of the interior. The rear amp/speakers sound weak and out of phase no matter how much you play with the front to rear balance. As a test, if you adjust your balance all the way to the rear and then adjust bass/treble all you want, it will never sound acceptable in the present configuration. I'm not sure if there is a software upgrade, but the EQ settings on the rear amp perhaps need to match the EQ settings of the front amp and there should be a way to alter the front to rear balance so it is even in the center position on the fader knob. As it stands, the sound to a rear seat passenger must be terrible if they are hearing it from one of the rear speakers. Once again, I am aware of high end systems being tuned for 'front and center' but the rear amp/speakers in this car seem wasted in their present configuration.
