CU review of family sedans

For the price of the top 3 ranked (execellent rating) family sedans in the most recent issue of SAAB loving Consumer Reports the following chart was presented:
MY QUESTION IS THAT OTHER THAN THE VW, WHY WOULD ANYONE BUY ONE OF THESE CARS OVER A 9-3 SS LINEAR??? Am I missing something because these family sedans used to be around $20K and now they all seem to be around $27K and up. I believe only the VW approached the SAAB for safety and performance.
VW PASSAT V-6 GLX $30.7K
Toyota Camry XLE (V 6) $28.7K
Honda Accord EX (V 6) $26.8K
Nissan Altima 3.5 SE (V 6) $27.9K
Mazda 6 (V6) $26.1K
Now granted these are likely MSRP figures and actual cost may be lower for some models. Still a new 9-3SS Linear w auto and sunroof priced at Edmunds.com is only $28.4 TMV w an auto tranny, sunroof and sport suspension with 17" rims.
So my question is if SAAB really wants to use product and boost sales where is the damn marketing campaign that will appeal to loyal accord and camry buyers. Safety sell and showing the two SAAB crashing head on into one another is far more effective than GM's idiotic "state of independence" BS. You see GM has next to no experience selling a superior product at a comparable price. With GM, you sell crap and hype emotionalism which is the exact opposite of what Camry and Accord buyers are motivated by.
Sorry every post turns into a rant.
