Beware of the difference between your 2000 T-7 system vs. Matt's 1999 T-5 system. It's never a bad idea to look for vacuum leaks, but some stuff is in different locations...
My '01 has a valve mounted between the aircleaner & the shock tower. The hose coming from it likes to rub against the valve cover, I'm always afraid it'll wear thru.
Now then... You've got a motorized throttle-body, and that's what the ECU uses to hold the idle steady. I don't have an error-code list, but if that P1230 code means the TB has gone into limp-home, it's no longer able to do the idle-stabilization job.
I saw something about how to disengage the limp-home, but I can't find it now. Maybe it's on Townshend's site which seems to be down?? Maybe it was Anders posting here?
If you're gonna clean the TB, check this... Take off the plastic shroud, & take off the little guard around the cable drum. Start the engine, watch the cable drum. There's a lever that floats a little - it lags behind the cable drum & it makes its own little adjustments all the time. If it doesn't, if it's locked to the cable drum, then it's in limp-home.
