It's side-mounted to the tranny case & faces the passenger side. It's real close to the catalytic converter & has an aluminum crush washer. I think it's a 24mm bolt head. Don't over-tighten the plug. And I strongly recommend only using either Mobil 1 syn ATF or Amsoil syn ATF. Buy four quarts & expect to use between 3 & 3-1/2 qts.
If the car's been on the factory schedule of either 60k mi intervals (normal) or 30k mi intervals (severe), I'd also recommend 1 yr/10k mi changes for the next two or three intervals. Conventional fluid gets burned & loaded up with debris pretty severely at the factory intervals, so a few accelerated changes with syn will help get that junk outta there & keep things protected if you go back to factory intervals.
