Car's a 2000 base with 150 000 kms, so no more warranty on cat (8 yrs or 130 000 kms)
I did have a CEL and brought it in- said it was MAF. I've since had 2 more, and don't know the code (just disconnected the battery) but as I said, I hear a rattling from behind that co-insides to boost, and with no wastegate hooked up the the BPC, I still don't go into red.
I'll try swapping out the BPC with and indy if he'll let me.
It blow soot only when at very high rpm and then not too much -- I'd say it's oil. just changed the plugs, old ones didn't look too bad, whiteish.
At this point the car runs much better, so I may just leave the wastegate off and keep an eye on the boost gage -- any long term ill effect by doing this?
thanks!
