I used to lease a 2000 9-3 base - silver/cloth/5-speed. I loved the car, but turned it in before I moved from Ohio to California. I'm in the market for another one as I want to replace my rusty 1990 SPG. Here are my options as I see it:
Max I wanna pay is $15k before taxes/title/etc.
Option 1 - Local car I test drove today.
2001 9-3 Base - 3-dr/coupe - 5-spd 185HP
Black/Tan Leather
Heated Seats
14600 miles
Warranty 50k/April '05
Price: $13,500 negotiable
Pros:
LOW miles
Warranty
5-spoke rims
Can tint out windows - looks great on black car
California Car
Fantastic condition
Cons
Base Stereo
No SE ground effects
Black car
2 door
1 door ding
No ACC (actually I don't like ACC, but I don't want a broken knob issue)
Option 2 - Get a car through Mario Bouza (SF Bay Area broker who sells on TSN)
2001-02 9-3 SE
5-door
205HP HOT
Premium sound
$14-15k
Pros
More car, a little more money
Better stereo
5 door
More HP engine
Cons
Higher miles, but still reasonable
Good condition, but no way to see before purchase
Can get some remaining warranty, but how much???
Requires premium fuel
Car will be from Milwaukee or somewhere else in the midwest / Not a CA car
Unknown Maint. history. Not all Leasee's take great care...
What do y'all think?
