Been through this twice on my 94 SE and once on my 00 9-3. It is much easier to jack up the right side, remove the wheel and remove the inner fender liner. This is the only way to get things secured on the crank and AC pulleys. I stuff it down though the top get it straightened out and placed on the lower pulleys and work my way up. The last thing I did was to put it on the small idler pulley at the top rear near the tensioner. When I did this I also pulled the breaker bar forward to make it easier to do. On my 00 9-3 I had to remove the tubular brace to be able to move the breaker bar forward enough, on my 94 it is not in the way. Oh well, one of the 1100 "improvements" from the 94 model, I guess, just like those crappy head bolts and lousy Pioneer stereo in later models. I think GM took credit for their cost savings as "improvements".
