My '01 9-3 suffered from the typical blue smoke at start-up syndrome since I bought it a year ago. Dealer installed the crankcase breather mod, but the smoke still continued. Thinking the next option was eventual turbo replacement, I thought of one last ditch effort: Marvel Mystery Oil. Just a pint (about half the length of the "full" to "add" distance on the dipstick) about 500 mi. before an oil change. I didn't want to use any more for any longer than that due to its solvent properties. Before I poured it in, I researched some user boards and found the small airplane enthusiasts swearing by it! If engine failure was not a big concern for them....it couldn't be all bad! It's been about a month and about 1200 miles. And NO smoke in the morning! Anyone else use this stuff?
