I installed an Optima 34R in my 198 900SET with no problems. When I installed mine, the 34R had an orange top instead of the red top, but the battery is the same as the current Optima 34R redtop battery.
The Optima is a sealed battery, using spiral wound lead foil/glass mat electrolyte battery cells. The Optima is vibration resistant, spill proof. The Optima Group 34 & 34R have 800 cold cranking amps (CCA) and 1000 cranking amps (CA). CCA is measured at 0F (-18C) degrees and CA is measured at 32F (0C) degrees.
