I have also been troubleshooting a shimmy for a while. I have replaced almost everything in the front end. I had my wheels balanced 3 times before I took them to a tire center that had a Hunter GSP9700 balance machine and had them Road Force Balanced. The technician told me that I had a rim that was bent in a way that a normal balance may not have picked up. I have sent the rim out for repair and am waiting to see if my problem is solved.
Have you checked the boots on the drive shafts to see if any are torn or if there is any grease that has escaped?
Motor and/or Trans mounts?
Strut Mounts?
After going through this drill and reading all the posts related to this same issue, my best guess would be.
Shimmy at speed is either a bent rim/balance issue/bad tire or worn tripod bearing.
Shimmy at braking is a warped rotor.
