I figured that might be the case. I was just sort of curious, in case I ever needed to replace the steering rack or something down the line. I might look at it this summer, when I have some leisure time without a daily commute in case I get in over my head.
The Taliaferro transmission mount was simple to install. I won't say it was easy, because without jack stands, exerting enough force to free the red-locktited bolts that secure the mount to the transmission was a bit of a struggle. The car does have a different character now. It is much easier to shift into second under high boost, and you can feel what the engine is doing through your seat (which isn't a bad thing in my book, but people with delicate backsides may differ in opinion). Overall, it does give it a sportier feel, and more secure shifting (though the "notchiness" is still there... probably just bit of slop in the linkage, which has never really bothered me).
Thanks for the thoughts!
Best,
Lutfisk
