My 9-3 S with 5 speed and 78,000 miles developed the "I can't get it into gear syndrome" In addition, I was driving back from the mountains last week, and it felt like it was going to completely shake apart in the front end, the steering wheel was almost torn out of my hands. Now, I have not raced this thing, nor abnormally abused my car what so ever. I took it into the dealer and discovered and they wrote on my ticket for repairs..."Needs transmission update kit" Basically, they service guy at Mike Shaw Saab told me I need a new transmission...AT 78,000 MILES!!!??? My 86 900 T didn't need a rebuild until 250,000. So much for long life Saabs. Of course this repair comes not more than 3 months after having to have a new head gasket put on due to the head not being properly torqued. I called Saab customer service and they told me no, but offered to escalate it to a supervisor....
Any one have a similar problem? Any suggestions?
Thanks.....
