>>No warning or smell, just studder and a killed engine.<<
So it just dies? I could be doing 75 on the interstate and the engine will just stop suddenly? That's scary.
Did you notice any extra cranks when starting your engine prior to it dying? My car (for the past 2 or so weeks) has been starting normally some times, and other times it cranks 3-4 times, and tonight it cranked 7-8 times; I almost thought it wasn't going to start. I'm hoping that's not an indication. I thought it might be bad gas, but I've gone through several fill ups since then.
My problem is that my company owns the car, and they're reluctant to shell out money if they don't have to. They would rather spend $750 in towing and repair expenses (I'm way out of warranty) then spend $300-$400 on a part that might not be needed.
Thanks everyone for your responses!
