Motorsport Experience ?

Hi guys,
I've been debating on this for a while now and would like to hear your feedback and/or experiences with motorsport events and the such.
I drive a 1997 900 SE with very low miles (75,000 Kilometers) that has been in top shape due to regular maintenance. Thing is I drive aggressively and although not a fan of ultra-high speed on the highway I can't help but push the limits on a corner. Motorsport events (such a solo2 and track laps) seem extremely applealing to me but can someone comment on their experience. I don't see a single Saab owner in my area that is interested however many of my friends with japanese and other euro cars are well into the sport. I understand it's going to be costly as things wear faster on the track (tires, brakes, fluids, ..etc..) but that's regular tear and wear but are our cars (NG900 & 9-3's) solid enough otherwise.
So far, i have a k&n filter with a free flow stainless steel exhaust and SS flex pipe. I've also get a HOT ECU so my 2nd gear is really mad.
On the downside, my brakes aren't in top shape (Oops I know, and I'm well aware they need to be replaced).
I'm hoping that others can look to this thread for a point of reference since I hear a lot about tuning these cars but never about enjoying their potential or tuning the driver skills. Always a pleasure.
