I noticed that my oil light came on the other night while driving my car
then my Check Engine light came on the next time I drove it.
I checked the oil level and it was fine. So I took it to my Mechanic
about 40 Miles Freeway. Temp was fine oil light would come on only above 3000 RPM and the Check engine light would go off and come on with the oil light as the rpm would go below 3000 rpm. When I got to his shop my car was clattering pretty good as if it was low on oil. I dropped it off with him after hours and when he started it up the following monday he told me the engine was missing. So far he has found a clogged oil pick up and a Compressed Lifter. He also noticed that one of my cylinders is wet on top it is the end cylinder on the drivers side. My Mechanic tells me that the reason for the oil build up was a result of using Semi synthetic and that the car should only have regular oil or full synthetic.I know the previous owner always used Semisynthetic. I bought the car with 70,000 miles and about 5000 miles later the turbo blew and from that point on have always used full synthetic. about 10,000 miles I am just really surprised that at 83,000 miles i'm having this kind of problem.
any one else seen this and any one have any suggestions.
