I would go with it for sure.
I have a 2000 9-3 with the Saab extended warranty, now with 81K miles. My car has needed:
Turbo
head-gasket
clutch throw-out bearing
SID
suspension bushings (creaking in very cold weather)
ignition coil cassette
axle shaft seals
A great driving car, but it has needed about $6 or 7K worth of service. I would have been really disappointed if I had to pay for all this. I bought the car with the CPO warranty at 40K miles.
My wife's mother has a 2000 9-3 and has had no problems.
A friend of the family has a 9-5 wagon with no problems.
I would get the warranty, but DO A TON OF HOMEWORK ON THE PROVIDER AS THEY GO OUT OF BUSINESS VERY FREQUENTLY.
