You won't have to mess with a Viggen, all the performace stuff comes stock. If you're gonna' keep a car 250-400k than you'll get your money out of performance mods in the driving and you'll never experience the depressed resale value of a modified car.
I woulda' thought the Viggen sport seats would be preferred, but you say you like the SE seats better. They do both have adjustable lumbar support. I woulda' thought the Viggen motor would have pulled stronger than any 9000 too, sure the Viggen you drove was all there?
You didn't mention a 9-5 Aero with the Viggen motor in a more civilized chassis and cabin. The natural successor to your 9000. If you wanna' be really cool, get a SportWagon.
A 9-5 Aero handles, and rides, better than a Viggen, but a 9-3 SS Linear, Arc or Aero "handles" a generation better than either with vastly improved front to rear weight distribution, Re-Axe passive rear wheel steering and all aluminum suspension components. A 9-5 or 9-3SS has a very acceptable ride with 17's, a 9-3SE or Viggen can get a little stiff.
