In normal driving, when do you shift?

My first two cars were a Mustang 5.0 and a Camaro, and so I'm used to shifting at lower rpms because they were not high winding motors. But even after owning the '99 9-3 SE HOT for about a year now, I'm still finding hidden power if I just wind it out a little more before shifting -- even just in normal driving conditions (not racing around). I'm so used to shifting under 3k...
Now I know, most of us have been driving stick for long enough that we don't even bother looking at the tach (we just feel it, and know when we need to shift) unless we're racing... but do me a favor, and next time you go to shift when you're cruising around, take a glance down and look at revs you tend to shift at...
Just curious, and thought I'd start a conversation...
