I have to agree with JimBlake on this one. It depends on my craving of the sling shot affect. When I want to feel "fired" I take it up higher around 4000 but you have to have room cause your jumping to light speed.
Another question along these lines would be how fast do you shift. If I'm jumping to light speed I try to make the shift as fast as possible for some reason I always have trouble with third gear. It makes a ratchet kind of noise unless I allow it time to move.
If I'm just cruising along I shift around 3000.
