I'm most of the way thru the airbox mod (3" PVC pipe) which REM in Seattle gave me the instructions on yesterday. REM, if you're reading this, can you tell me how far the new tube should go into the intake box? I was curious if the air entering the box was "evenly" dispersed across the filter, depending on the depth of inlet tube penetration. I also noticed that the outlet tube was at the front end of the intake box. I got creative and directed a hairdryer into the end of the new 3" tube, and with the filter and cover off, I noticed that a predominant amount of air was directed up at the back of the box. This seemed to be a result of the angled shape of the rear of the intake box. Would the draw of the incoming air be more "even" (into the filter and thru the outlet, if the top of the 3" PVC pipe was cut away inside the box, maybe the top 1/3-1/2?
It just seems that there is a lot of turbulence in there, due to the fact that the air chases around before it goes out?!

Wouldn't it have been better if Saab had put the outlet tube at the rear of the intake box?
