The turbo silencer is in a ~2" metal pipe running along the lower part of the engine bay. If you pop the hood, look between the radiator and the engine block, it's about 2 feet long running from left to right. If you still can't find it, locate the turbo on the front left side of the engine. A rubber hose comes off the turbo going towards the ground, turns 90 degrees and then connects to a metal pipe that runs along the length of the engine bay then connects to another rubber hose that turns towards the radiator. The two rubber hoses have hose clamps attached to them, just loosen the two clamps and pull the pipe out. If I remember correctly I disconnected the 90 degree rubber hose off the turbo and the metal pipe from the rubber hose connecting to the IC. This made it easier to remove. When you look in the metal pipe you will see a 6" black plastic insert along the pipe wall of the pipe, this is the silencer. The silencer breaks apart pretty easily when you pull on it with some pliers.

If you pop the hood and nothing looks as I've described you probably already have the Viggen IC and no silencer. The Viggen IC only uses rubber hoses to connect the turbo to the IC.

As far as noise, it doesn’t make the car much louder. Probably not much louder than adding a K&N air filter. After I removed the silencer and ported the TBTC there wasn’t a power increase, but the engine felt smoother. The sport exhaust is definitely the loudest mod (rumbling), the air box mod the second (rushing air). The MBC will whistle a little as the turbo spools up.
