Anders: Replacing the gasket is a matter of choice. If you are not confident enough in your work or the gasket and decide to replace it and charge your customers for it is your business. I imagine it makes good sense to prevent comebacks. Hell you are charging you customers for it anyway why not just put a new one on when it’s designed to be reused. In my case the gasket stayed put in the valve cover and was very pliable at 50k. Looked and was good to reuse. Hey because it’s intended to be. Go figure.
How about the head bolts are you an expert at metallurgy as well? Or is that just another $46 or what ever after your mark up of cheep insurance to prevent rework on your part?
To assume I haven’t turned wrenches is a mistake on your part. Especially before asking.
So to be blunt. SWEDECAR replaces these things and charges their customers because by chance they don’t want rework. NO THANKS!!! I will do it myself.
