Came back from Recall (01~02 9-3) Posted by Flyer [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Hello.
Since my car needs to be summerized (put summer tire/wheel back on) I left the vehicle at dealership last weekend.
I recieved letter from saab about recall saturday and I called dealer and told them I want it to be done. since I had time between class & job, I came down to dealer and watched it.
First, mechanic has to drain all the gas from gas tank.
then disconnect fuel tank and drop it out.
At this time, I asked mechanic what could be done, and he said "If you're close to 60K miles, you should drop fuel filter at this time.
Even though my car only had 50K on it, I decided to change fuel filter (Since it's free of labor and only cost me fuel filter).
Mechanic said, last couple of years, he seen vehicle that burnt rear seat relate to this issue and saab didn't had to pay because mostly it's covered by their insurance.. Ha!
Any how, 45 mins of pumping gas out of gas tank and about 1 hour of working time was not that bad at all.
All they needs to do is change some screws and some holders.
You should use all the gas before take to dealership.
and so far, dealership only got 10 of parts they needs. In other words, you have to wait if dealership ran out the parts.
