Hopefully Dean will post in this thread, his posts and advice ob breaks is all over the NG900 board, I think I read most of them by now.
If the rotors are still shiny then the calipers work somewhat. If surface is completely rusted you may not be able to reuse the old calipers.
The list price for your calipers, p/n 5084710, 5084702 comes up as $393 (each) on genuinesaab.com, not sure if that can be right? Ask the dealer what parts they would replace, exactly.
Saab rear brakes seem to rust and seize up after a few years unless you take them apart and either relubricate or rebuild them. Never had it happen to that extent on other cars, even with lots of road salt.
I don't know what a dealer would charge for a Viggen, but the cost of a single new caliper for a my car is $200 Saab list. Two new Saab calipers plus a set of rotors would be around $500 parts only, and then you still need a normal brake job (pads plus labor).
I decided to replace the worse of my two rusted rear calipers with a remanufactured (came with pads) for about $75 (sobstory.com). Not sure what is available for a Viggen.
When the rotor at the new caliper is completely shiny I plan to lubricate the other one (also rusty but working) and replace pads on both sides.
