I had the same damn problem, twice. The (!) and the brake light came on while hard cornering, then it started coming on all the time. The dealer told me that it was just that the fluid was low, but like u said it was above the fill line but not topped off. I asked them to look at it and when i got the car back it had gone away. I'm not sure if bleeding the air from the line is part of the basic "check the brakes" procedure or whether or not they just topped off the fluid.(they told me that was all they did, but I'm not convinced) I'm waiting for it to happen again and I'll add fluid myself and see what happens. Just wanted to let u know that u weren't alone.
