I just bought a 99' 9-3S with a factory tape deck and a 6 disc changer in the trunk. Everything is working but it sounds awful and has no up front CD player. I need suggestions on whether to upgrade to an aftermarket head unit, speakers, amp, and sub and loose the functions on the wheel and the cd-changer. Or to buy a salvage SAAB CD deck and just upgrade the speakers and drop in an aftermarket amp and small sub.
Will the factory CD deck control my trunk changer? Does it have pre-amp outputs? I know a custome cable will need to be built or bought from SAAB.
Suggestions or advice from people who have had similar problems? I'm worried if I get the SAAB CD deck I will still have problems driving the Amp, and changer. Or if I buy the aftermarket stereo I will confuse the computer SID and cause greater issues. HELP!!!!
