I had this problem with my old Geo Prizm with alloy wheels. This is what helped me:
1. Every time I had my tires changed/rotated at Sears, I took the wheels off when I got home and made sure that the lug nuts weren't overtightened, which might have contributed to the problem. Sears consistently overtorqued my lug nuts. Why don't I go to a place that knows what they are doing? Well, Sears will rotate my tires for free until my current tires wear out.
2. The last time I had to change a tire and found my wheel stuck to the hub, I used a lot of the spray on stuff you use to free up rusted parts (WD-40 or something similar), and I used the pointy end of my tire iron as a wedge to help knock the wheel loose. I put the pointy end right at the crack between the wheel and the hub, and used a hammer on the other end.
