On some models, the so-called "evap-canister" (which is basically a fancy activated charcoal filter) is located in the rear of the vehicle. On other models, it is located in the wheel well, above the plastic fender liner.

Either way, there is an electrically controlled valve which allows the gas fumes to be sucked from the canister into the engine. The ecu turns the valve on and off when the engine has warmed up, so the fumes go into the engine and are burned. This is the purge valve.

The hose from the purge valve to the throttle body and the engine intake seems to be broken or missing on your car, as was already posted. The rest of the plumbing just depends on where the canister is located on any given model.

If you can find the loose hose, you can probably reconnect it. If you cannot find it, it may have come loose from the plastic clips holding it in place, and come in contact with the belt on the upper idler pulley which is nearby, and got ripped to shreds (don't ask how I came across this little gem).

If too much of the hose is missing, you can replace it with a length of reinforced fuel line from any auto part store (use the end still on the throttle body nipple to get the right size). You can also cap off the two open ends of the system temporarily, which is better for your car than a broken hose, and then get the oem replacement.

Right now you have an open line from the fuel tank into the engine compartment, and an air leak (vacuum leak) from the throttle body. So, doing SOMETHING soon is probably a good idea.

You should also check the rest of the vacuum lines for breaks and crumbling rubber, and replace any that might be deteriorating. Where there is one bad hose, there is usually more.
