Running, but don't know why

The plot thickens on this one. Following Dean's advice (thanks Dean) I checked the fuel pump fuse and confirmed a couple of second's worth of voltage upon ignition. Then the engine actually began to catch -- very lumpy at first and refused to hold. Several attempts later, including a full-throttle-pressed start to ensure there was no flooding, it caught enough to hold.
Ran lumpily, as if on three cylinders, until hot, then smoothed out and is now running fine.
My hunch: dirty injectors. I'll drop in some cleaner, as I've had lumpy starting before cured by this.
Interesting questions: The '37' code still flashes when ignition first on, but the malfunction light stays off once I engage the starter. Should I take it to the local mechanic who has a Saab-compatible computer to see if we can determine what the '37' code is? Do I need to do this while the light still flashes? Could it be that this flashing is a memory of a previous fault which inhibited starting? Could this have contributed to the failure of the DI block a few weeks back? Does anyone know of any causes of poor starting/lumpy cold running aside from dirty injectors?
