I have the same problem with my 1999 9-3 and just took everything out of the trunk area and traced the leak to the passanger side seal where the quarter panel is attached under the top of the hatchback. It is right where the black trim from the roof connects under the hatch. Upon close inspection there is a small crack in the sealer at this point and I'm currently caulking it there and hope that is my only leak. When tested with a garden hose it really comes in and soaks everything.
