There was a class action law suit against SAAB in the US over this issue and it was settled out of court for several million dollars I believe. I got a letter on it but promptly threw it away because it's not SAAB's fault that people choose to buy cars with low-profile rims and then run into potholes and curbs. Why should SAAB have to pay for that? It can happen to anyone driving any make of car that happens to drive on bad roads. Granted, our roads in the US are much worse in spots than in the UK, but..........
I'm not getting on your case personally and I don't think this class action lawsuit was valid in the UK. Do you even have a class-action law in the UK? Is the UK as litigious of a society as the US where everyone tries to blame others for their own mistakes and sue them?
The period for claims in the US has long since expired too, so those in the US seeking damage claims (limited to roughly $400 per tire and rim for a limit of 4 I think) are out of luck.
