As a long time Saab owner (since '78) I'm extremely disappointed in the reliability of the 9-3. Fortunately I have the CPO warranty and have paid very little for my 8 service visits. I still have 15 months/40K warranty left. I bought this car anticipating long life (200K+) but do not expect to keep it beyond the warranty expiration.

The dealer has been generally responsive to my requests. When they balk at a repair and claim it is not a problem, I've found the magic words are: "My Subaru doesn't have this noise, problem, etc." My Saab ('99 9-3 58K) has had 8 warranty repair visits in 12 months; my Subaru ('01 52K) has had 2 warranty visits in 42 months and not a nickel for any other failure.

I would pass on all the cars you listed and wait for the '05 Legacy GT. Maybe Saab could introduce this as a new model - perhaps a 9-4?
