I just bought a 99 9-3 s 43,000 mi. my shop said- new muffler, headgasket leaking- no retorque yet. heaterbox needs work and strut mounts need replacing- API said car is great otherwise. what are the odds of paying 9,500 for a different car that wouldnt need something soon- (di, engine mount, oilpan have been replaced under warranty-). $2,000 to fix if i keep it and the headgasket needs more than a retorque - the dealer(not saab) said they would "work with me". I talked to saab usa and they wouldnt open up a case with out the service records on paper- stamped service book wasnt good enough. They said I could take it to the SAAB dealer and see what they said and maybe they might cover part of it- typical story? when I check the car ads i find most saabs at 11,500. if i kept it i would have 11,500 into it How stupid of me would it be to keep
the car and maybe get something however little from the dealer I bought it from and maybe have part of the repair paid for by SAAB goodwill. Now I am having trouble letting go of my 91 900s....-but one person shouldnt have three cars- so Ive been told....
