Thanks Dean.
I'm on the 2nd block and probably the 3rd rebuild of the engine.
short story:
I'm the 2nd owner (1st time saab owner) and was somewhat scammed by the first owner who didn't divulge all the information about the car. I received the car after recent warrantied engine work. Shortly afterwards I pulled the oil pan and discovered a mess that included holes drilled in the top of the sump pickup and screen. I fixed all this and shortly aftewards developed (surprise) low oil pressure. I returned the car to the garage (200miles away) and he tracked down a spun balance shaft bearing which wallowed out its seat in the block. I'm ~2,500 miles after the new block and no oil pressure problems (yet). I do have an oil leak coming from the head gasket. I plan on re-torquing this weekend. I'm a little perplexed why Saab chose to put all the coils in one "cassette" instead of replacing them individually when they go bad. They took 4 $50 parts and combined them to make a single $400 part. One thing is for sure... parts on this car are not cheap!
